The Common Colon Syndromes
Primary Symptoms: Urgent, frequent, loose, or bloody stools. Bacterial, amoebic & fungal infestation. Individual herbs: Golden Seal, Berberis, Pau d’Arco, Bilberry, Bearberry, Yellow Gentian and Chaparral. Energetic Herbals formulae: Natural Antibiotic, Diarrhoea Clear and Anti-fungal. Foods: Especially favourable are: Bean curd, Buckwheat, cabbage, coconut, corn, cucumber, honey, lettuce, kohlrabi, millet, salt, sesame oil, sorghum, soybean (yellow), sweet potato, eggs, basil, cantaloupe and winter melon, apples, banana, beef, chicken, milk, oranges, peas, pear, rice, tomato. Avoid greasy and fatty foods, such as butter, animal fats, egg yolk, cream, fish liver oils, fried foods and lard. Also avoid alcohol, pork, maltose and sweet rice.
Primary Symptoms: Abdominal distention, pain and swelling, constipation or small, dark, dry stool, congestive headaches, sweating, thirst, irritability, passing of gas, dry mouth, bad breath and/or dry, sticky, yellowish tongue moss. Individual herbs: Kelp, Bladder wrack, Liquorice root, comfrey root, Iceland moss and Slippery Elm. Energetic Herbal Formulae: Moisten and Soothe, Peristalsis Foods: Favour those foods listed as moistening and cooling or moistening and warming (or neutral), avoid those that are drying.
Primary Symptoms: Slippery diarrhoea, loose stools, poor appetite, fatigue, underweight, weakness, emaciation, malabsorption and/or malnutrition.
